Cornell Humanity+ is committed to crafting a world in which imagination, adaption, and creativity propel cultural and scientific progress. One idea, namely transhumanism, an intellectual movement encouraging emerging science to improve humanity, has resonated profoundly with Cornell students concerned about biological and environmental issues. The team incorporates the latest engineering publications and cutting edge research into constructive debate.
This organization is an interdisciplinary collegiate think tank, and the members engage in the critical analysis of possible 21st century futures in the worlds of technology and politics. With the aid of guest speakers, Cornell Humanity+ has envisioned the world’s different ideologies even outside the engineering disciplines, i.e. through music and art, religion and philosophy, and government and economics.
